If someone tells you, “You have to look at dance from a different point of view…”, you might visualize yourself or look at your cast from a different part of the room. The group of artists known as BANDALOOP, takes it to a whole new level – and it’s not the ground.
Two days ago, at UC Berkeley’s Cal Day, the vertical dance group made the walls of the Campanile their stage, taking our perspective of dance 90 degrees sideways and 300 feet in the air. They call themselves “a pioneer in vertical dance” combining “intricate technology and climbing technology”. Nailed it.
